Education
Phd Candidate, Duke University, Electrical Engineering (2001~Present)
Research: ionospheric remote sensing, lightning and electromagnetic measurement&instrumentations;
General Task: besides my phd research work, I am also responsible for maintenance of the ULF and ELF-VLF lightning recording systems at duke forest. The job includes collecting, checking and uploading the data and making the corresponding data catalog; the job also covers debugging and fixing the system either on hardware (like preamplifier or the antennas in most cases) or software (LABVIEW for data recording OR MATLAB for data browsing) when it gets broken down.
M.S., Huazhong University of Sci&Tech (Wuhan, China), Electrical Engineering (1997~2000)
Thesis: the research of harmonic influence upon heavy DC comparator
B.S., Huazhong University of Sci&Tech (Wuhan, China), Electrical Engineering (1993~1997)
Thesis: the research of on-site loss measurement of transformer
