Information for those arriving Saturday for tutorials

Several people have expressed an interest in arriving in Madison on Saturday (in order to make the tutorials on Sunday). To accommodate this, we are setting aside a block of rooms at the Inn-on-the-Park Hotel (http://www.innonthepark.net at 22 South Carroll Street on the Capital Square, three blocks from the Monona Terrace), since the workshop hotel (the Concourse) is booked for that evening.

The rates per night are $114.00 for rooms with one bed (1 to 2 people), $124.00 for rooms with two beds (1 to 2 people) and $144.00 for suites. Rates do not include taxes of 5.5% for the state or 9% for the city, if applicable. The check-in time is after 3 p.m. and checkout time is before 12 p.m. At the time of the cut-off date (July 24, 2007), any guest rooms from this block that have not been reserved will be released for sale to the general public. Reservations must be guaranteed for late arrival via a credit card or an advanced deposit equal to one night’s stay. There is a 2-night minimum for all reservations, and cancellation of individual reservations must be made 24 hours prior to the day of arrival.

Please identify yourself as being part of the “IEEE/SSP Conference Block.” This will facilitate access to information about the group booking. You must call the hotel directly at (800) 279- 8811 or at (608) 285-8000 to be booked within this block.

Conference hotel information

The Concourse Hotel, Madison’s largest convention hotel, will serve as the primary hotel for the workshop. The Concourse is located just two or three blocks from the workshop site. In addition, there are many other options for lodging within walking distance from the workshop site, ranging from up-scale bed-and-breakfasts to university-run housing for students and budget-conscious travelers.

Guest Rooms

Guest room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check-in. Parking is $7.00 per day for overnight guests. Other guests may use our underground-parking ramp if space is available. There are additional public parking facilities located within one block of our hotel.

Reservations

Individuals are requested to call the Concourse Hotel directly at 1-800-356-8293 to make reservations. Attendees should identify themselves as part of the 2007 IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop when making their guest room reservations.

The reservation cut off date is midnight C.S.T. on July 29, 2007. Any individual reservations or rooming list received after the cut off date will be accepted on a space and rate available basis.

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements have been made for each individual to pay for his/her guest room, tax and incidental charges.

All individual reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card.

All reservations cancelled after 4:00 p.m. C.S.T. 24 hours prior to arrival and all “no shows” will be charged one night room and tax.
