Call for Papers 16th IEEE SYMPOSIUM ON RELIABLE DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS http://www.ee.duke.edu/~srds97 October 22-24, 1997, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA THEME: The focus of the symposium concerns the building and use of dependable distributed and parallel systems, particularly with system properties such as reliability, availability, and performance. In addition to traditional submissions, we welcome papers that deal with experimental results, testbeds, development, and data from operational systems. We especially encourage timely papers that describe industrial projects, experimental systems, exploratory applications in large networks, and topics related to the next generation of large reliable distributed systems. TOPICS OF INTEREST: The major areas of interest include but are not limited to the following topics, as they relate to reliable distributed and parallel systems: - System-Level Fault Tolerance - Databases and Transaction Processing - Software Fault Tolerance - Parallel and Distributed Operating Systems - Modeling - Fault-Tolerant Object-Oriented Systems - Security - Global Information Infrastructure - Programming Language Support - Dependable Parallel and Clustered Systems PAPER SUBMISSIONS: Papers must be written in English and printed using at least 11-point type and 1-1/2 line spacing. Manuscripts should be no more than 20 pages in length, including figures. Authors are requested to submit six copies of their paper by April 15, 1997 to the program committee co-chair: Amir A. Abouelnaga TRW Systems Integration Group One Federal Systems Park Drive Fairfax, VA 22033 Phone: 1-703-803-5613 Email: amir.a.abouelnaga@trw.com The best SRDS '97 papers in Reliability and Survivable Information Systems will be published in the IEEE Transactions on Reliability or Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, respectively. IMPORTANT DATES: Paper submission deadline: April 15, 1997 Author notification: June 21, 1997 Final camera-ready copies due: July 26, 1997 Symposium dates: Oct. 22-24, 1997 GENERAL CHAIR: Kishor S.
