Professor Smith's laboratory is located in the Fitzpatrick Center for Interdisciplinary Engineering, Medicine and Applied Sciences (FCIEMAS). The FCIEMAS facility is shown in the photograph above to the left, just under the Duke chapel. The older engineering building, Hudson Hall, is shown to the right and is just across from FCIEMAS.

To reach Duke from RDU airport, do the following:

• Exit airport following signs to Interstate 40
• Turn RIGHT onto I-40 W toward Durham/Chapel Hill (3.9 miles)
• Merge onto NC-147 N, exit 279B, toward Durham/Downtown
• Take the 15-501 Bypass, exit 16B, toward Chapel Hill
• Take the Cameron Blvd/Duke University West Campus, exit 107
• At the end of the exit ramp, turn LEFT
• Turn LEFT at the third light, Science Drive
• Follow Science Drive past Towerview Road
• Park in the Bryan Center/Duke Chapel parking lot on your RIGHT
• Exit the parking lot to your RIGHT and walk toward CIEMAS

There is metered parking near CIEMAS as indicated on the map. In addition, there is visitor parking in the newly opened PG-IV parking lot, located just across from the metered parking next to the Bryan Center (it is indicated as not yet open on the map).
